The Beskydy Mountain ranges are a part of the Carpathians. Starting in the Czech Republic, in the west, they move through Slovakia following the border with Poland and continue to just inside Ukraine in the east.

At the time the area would have been a place for a classic wilderness holiday – hiking, mountain climbing, camping and skiing would have been on the agenda as well as embracing culture, food and beer, plus touring the historic wooden churches of the Slovak Carpathians… You better google that one!
